Wedding Vows

When I took this image, I was nearing my 6 year wedding anniversary.  It encompassses most of my first year knowing my husband.

The background is the dress I wore in our first wedding.  We had a justice of the peace ceremony in a rose garden 1 1/2 months after we met.

The rosary was my something borrowed, now being kept safely tucked away for my daughter.  It was my mother's something borrowed at her own wedding.

The ring was my something old.  It is my Great-Grandmother's first wedding rings that were melted down and reset when she married her second husband, my grandmother was still very young.  She wore this ring on her right hand afterwards.  I received the ring when I was 16 from my Grandmother.  I decided then and there that it would be my something old.  I wore it in my church wedding tied into the lace-up back of my gown.

And then our cake topper was something new.  I found this one on sale a week before the wedding when I was arranging to have flowers placed on top instead.

We now joke around that my something blue was in progress at the time.  I was 4 months pregnant with my son at out second wedding!
